Southeast Asia Migrants' Crisis: Kidnapped and Witness to Murder

Abdul*, 11, a migrant boy at sea, has been looked after at the Phang Nga Shelter, in southern Thailand, for six months after being rescued from traffickers who kidnapped him for ransom and put him on a migrants’ boat by force.

Young people tell governments: Include us in the fight against human trafficking

Young people from six countries in the GMS joined the Regional COMMIT Youth Forum in Phnom Penh where they presented recommendations to their governments on how to support youth-led community activities for human trafficking prevention.

Wanchana Waree, 21, was among the selected twenty-eight youths from six countries in the Greater Mekong Sub-region who joined the Regional COMMIT Youth Forum in Phnom Penh from 27-30 April 2015 where they presented recommendations to their governments on how to best support youth-led community activities for human trafficking prevention.
